As I am writing this, we are still in the great toilet paper shortage of 2020. And as bizarre as it has been to see people stocking up on bath tissue, it actually kind of makes sense. As COVID-19, social distancing, and quarantines have impacted our communities directly, we feel a need to take action. During times of confusion, we desire certainty. And one way to feel certain is to do something, even if that something is to stock up on an item that has nothing to do with a respiratory disease. So instead of stocking up on toilet paper, I challenge all of us to stock up on 3 things during these times:
1. “Stock up” on quality time with family. We are finding ourselves in our homes with loved ones so let’s take advantage of the opportunity to create memories.
2. “Stock up” on knowledge. Turn off the tv and dive into a book.
3. “Stock up” on good habits. Now is a great time to fill your day with exercise, meditation, and other spiritual habits and disciplines.
